This is the quality of phone commonly sold on Amazon, eBay, Best Buy Marketplace and by many other repair shops that don’t disclose repair history.
Best for: tight budgets. We always disclose aftermarket parts upfront.
Many cheap “renewed” or refurbished phones sold online are rebuilt to hit a low price. Valuable original parts like the screen, battery or frame are often removed and resold, then replaced with lower-grade aftermarket parts. Switched off, the phone looks identical. The problems show up once you use it.
In Canada, online sellers generally aren’t required to clearly disclose when aftermarket parts are used, so many buyers don’t find out until later. Fixpal Certified phones cost more because they’re built properly: genuine OEM parts, thorough testing and a warranty.
Our advice: if reliability matters most, an older premium OEM model is usually a better buy than a newer aftermarket one.
