Why customers switch their plan with us
Phone plans are the #1 topic in our 680+ Google reviews. Here’s why customers switch:
- Lower monthly bills. We find savings you won’t see in carrier ads.
- Plans only, no strings. Plans are sold on their own. We don’t bundle or finance phones.
- Cases & screen protectors: the best selection in Manitoba.
- Local support. Plan questions get answered face-to-face, not by a call centre.
Can I keep my number?
You can keep your current number when you switch to a plan through Fixpal. We handle the transfer for you in store.
Don’t cancel your current service first, as that can make the number unavailable to transfer. Just bring your phone and a recent bill or your current account details, and we’ll take care of the rest.
Can I transfer my number to another provider?
Found a better deal? No problem. Your number is never locked to Fixpal, so you can transfer it to another provider. You may have heard otherwise, but that’s not correct. Fixpal is an authorized reseller for multiple major Canadian wireless providers, and our plans follow the same CRTC rules and number-portability requirements as any other provider.
As with any provider, a few things can delay or prevent a transfer: an outstanding balance or account issue, an inactive service, not being authorized on the account, contract or service agreement requirements, or missing or incorrect account information. These are carrier and account requirements, not a hold by Fixpal. As long as they’re met, you can transfer your number to another provider.
